Is it secure to take donations on a mobile phone?

Absolutely. All transactions are processed using PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateways, the global standard for payment security. Donor card details are encrypted and never stored on the phone.
Are there any fees?

The KindLink Fundraising platform and CRM can be used for free by charities. You only cover the standard bank fees from our payment partner, Stripe. We don't charge any commission. Our Contactless Fundraising App is accessible to fundraisers for free and the charities receiving funds need to have the KindLink Expert subscription (£ 30 p/m). What do I need to get started?

Fundraisers can create a free KindLink account and only need a modern smartphone (most NFC-enabled Android and iPhones are compatible). Charities can sign up for free and need to upgrade to Expert subscription. There is no need to buy or rent separate card readers or hardware.
Can volunteers use the app?

Yes! You can set up limited-access accounts for volunteers, allowing them to collect donations for specific campaigns without accessing sensitive organisational data. It's perfect for event fundraising.
Can we reclaim Gift Aid on every contactless donation?

Yes, absolutely. Our platform is fully equipped to handle Gift Aid. You can easily collect the necessary details from donors so you can reclaim the additional 25% on every eligible donation, maximising your fundraising efforts. The KindLink CRM Automatic GiftAid feature also allows you to directly submit your GiftAid claim with HMRC.
Do our fundraisers need a constant Wi-Fi or data connection?

Yes, for the transactions to process in real-time and to ensure complete security, the device requires a stable connection to either a Wi-Fi network or a mobile data signal (like 4G or 5G). This ensures every tap is captured and processed immediately.
